Part of what makes this type of photography so unique is that the whole process needs to be completed while the chemicals on the plate are still wet, giving fact that a dark room needs to be on hand at all times. With the aid of a portable dark room, these photographs can be made anywhere on the spot all within about 10 minutes working time.
